Numeracy is the ability to understand and use mathematical knowledge in our everyday lives.
HOW I USE NUMERACY
I use my numeracy capabilities all the time in my daily life, such as in school, or even something as simple as baking and cooking.
example: My abilities in numeracy is helpful when I’m at work, because I have to constantly count money at the till.

DEFINITION OF INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY
Information Communication and Technology (ICT) is the ability to use technology in order to access and communicate information and ideas, work collaboratively, and operate it safely.
HOW I USE INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY
I use ICT every day for my schoolwork, and my phone.
example: A lot of my assignments in school majorly involves the use of ICT, so knowing how to operate it properly is crucial.

DEFINITION OF CRITICAL AND CREATIVE THINKING
Critical and Creative Thinking is the ability to think broadly using reason, logic, resourcefulness, imagination, and innovation.
HOW I USE CRITICAL AND CREATIVE THINKING
I use Critical and Creative Thinking whenever I’m doing my school assignments.
example: I used this capability a lot when I was composing a song for music, or even during my research-based assignments.

DEFINITION OF PERSONAL AND SOCIAL CAPABILITY
Personal and Social Capability is divided into four categories: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and social management. It involves recognising and regulating emotions, developing empathy for others, and dealing with emotions.
HOW I USE PERSONAL AND SOCIAL CAPABILITY
I use this capability whenever I’m helping others in different environments and situations.
example: Working in retail enables me to use this capability often, as I’m constantly helping customers.

DEFINITION OF ETHICAL UNDERSTANDING
Ethical Understanding is organised into 3 elements: understanding ethical concepts and issues, reasoning in decision making and actions, exploring values, rights, and responsibilities.
HOW I USE ETHICAL UNDERSTANDING
I use this capability every day, especially when I make decisions that can affect other people.
example: Identifying the ethical problems that a certain topic causes is something I often do in my assignments, especially those that are research based.
intercultural understanding
DEFINITION OF INTERCULTURAL UNDERSTANDING
Intercultural Understanding is the ability to relate and empathise with other cultures, as well as the willingness to try new experiences.
HOW I USE INTERCULTURAL UNDERSTANDING
I use this capability often in my day to day life, as I have many friends with different cultural backgrounds and experiences.
example: Having that willingness to learn about other’s cultures is something I appreciate, and having a diverse friend group is what enables me to do so.

WHY DID I CHOOSE THIS CAPABILITY
I chose this capability because of its significance to me, and how it will help me in my future career. I’m willing to learn about other cultures, and I want to further develop my empathy towards others. Because I’m a very straightforward and blunt person, I may come across as a bit rude when explaining about my culture specifically, especially if another person has a differing perspective.
MY GOAL
In the future, I’m hoping to enter the medical field. This means that I have to be empathetic towards others. Strengthening this capability will greatly benefit me, since I’ll be coming across patients with different backgrounds and experiences.
HOW I CAN INTERACT WITH OTHERS
This capability will enable me to have a deeper connection to the world around me, as well as with people of different cultural backgrounds. Since this capability requires me to have an open mindset, I can easily connect with others and empathise with them.
